I just came back from helping at an admissions event with an Admissions Officer. She made it very clear that the EA and RA admissions process has gone back to the way it used to be. This is what she said:
1. For EA you can be offered an appointment, declined, CGAS or POSSIBLY a few waitlist positions. You will NOT be rolled over to RA. You will be notified by December 24.
2. For RA it is the same but there would be more waitlists available. You will be notified by April 1.

Please note that applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Some candidates are already being interviewed.

If anyone has specific questions they need answered please contact me as I can get you the answer since I will be at admissions this Friday.

This is different to what was said at Genesis. At that event they said that the outcomes for EA were Accepted, Declined, CGAS or Hold. I am concerned that they seem to have changed it in less than a week.

The Applicant Handbook or your Admissions Officer are always the best source for accurate information about the application process. As outlined in the handbook, these are the decision letters (all apply to CGAS Program too) that applicants will receive...

Aside from the non-acceptance letter, be prepared to receive one of the following decisions:

Reevaluation: Approximately 75-100 Early Action applicants who are not selected for an
appointment will be offered the opportunity to be reevaluated during Regular Admission. Your record
will be reviewed again if you accept the offer and update your file with an academic transcript showing
your most recent (fall semester) grades by February 1st. While some applicants may be appointed as a
result of their reevaluation during Regular Admission, others may be offered a spot on our wait list.

Wait List: Approximately 75-100 applicants who are not selected for an appointment by April 1st
will be offered a spot on our wait list. Your record will be reviewed again following the May 1st
appointment acceptance/declination deadline if you accept your spot on the wait list and update your
file with an academic transcript showing your most recent grades by May 1st. While some applicants
may immediately be appointed from the wait list during the first week in May, additional appointments
are often offered to wait list applicants through early June - the result of late medical disqualifications
or appointment declinations.

Conditional Appointment: An offer of admission that is conditional on meeting some additional
requirement(s) outlined in your appointment letter. These requirements include, but are not limited to,
attaining your DoDMERB medical qualification or receiving a medical waiver, meeting Coast Guard
accession height/weight standards, or improving your Physical Fitness Examination (PFE) score. By
satisfying any final requirements by the stated deadlines, and otherwise remaining eligible, you will
receive a full appointment.

Full Appointment: An offer of admission to the Coast Guard Academy. Your obligation is to
accept or decline by May 1st unless a later date is specified in your appointment letter.

Hi corescue59 and Objee, by "rolling," does that mean an admissions decision can come at any time if DD's application is complete and checked ready for review? Or do all EA decisions come out in December at the same time? She recently received an email that her package would be reviewed by the Cadet Candidate Evaluation Board in the next two weeks . Thanks!

Notifications will be released on a rolling basis this year as decisions are finalized...applicants will receive an e-mail that their decision letter is available to view on their application homepage.

Very helpful information. Now that the notifications will be made on a rolling basis, any idea when an applicant may know something after they have been sent to review? Are applicants going to be receiving notifications as early as October because of the rolling process? Just wondering for the applicants that had a complete packet back in August and are under review.
