LDAC Question from a parent

Commissioning ceremony is what matters. Unless you live near Knox it is a waste of a plane ticket for a cookie cutter ceremony. There will be many other events to go to but LDAC is one not worth traveling to.

Hell even BOLC graduation is not worth going to.

Agreed, we went because we live 40 miles from Ft. Lewis, we will not be making a trip to Ft. Knox.

Also, many cadets who are local to LDAC (Ft. Lewis and now Ft. Knox) will be allowed to leave locally IF and only IF they have a local escort (typically parents). This requires parents to show up the morning of the ceremony. I would guess that every parent who attended our DD's graduation was their to pick up their cadet or was there for a commissioning.

Live about 2 hours from Ft. Knox - if he's at LDAC I'll be in the stands. At basic training they let parents "sign out" other soldiers for family day(we took a few extra with us who didn't have family in town). If they allow that I'll grab a few cadets too:smile:

Will have to see about BOLC - too far down the road to even believe it will really happen.
