I've heard through word of mouth that there are age waivers. Would anyone here who knows please give more info? My only option is applying directly since I'm too old for the prep school.

I can't reply to such a waiver, although I don't think so. But what I am definite about, is that any waiver the academy grants, THEY submit. In other words, whether age, cfa, medical, etc. you don't apply for it. The academy determines whether they want to request or grant one.

As such, the best thing you can do is simply apply to the academy through LEADS. Based on your application, the academy will decide if any waivers they will apply/grant for you.

In my five years here I have never heard of an age waiver as a consideration. There's a first for everything, though.

I have not ever heard of anyone being granted a waiver for age, older or younger. But like AFrpaso said above: it doesn't mean it can't happen.

There are no age waivers--even for LEAD candidates. The law states you cannot have reached your 23rd birthday before 1 July of the year you enter USAFA.
