No you’re fine. My flight commander gave me my squadron commanders number and told me to call him and that he needed to talk to me.

Exactly. Only one person has heard on the 12th of April, and he got Direct Entry. A little late from the deadline. But, if he just got a DE Appt. then the people getting Prep Appts. Id imagine it would take a little bit longer

I heard your commander has to inform you before the portal updates. I still check the portal every day though

You’re commander does have to notify you,however, there’s a certain time period I believe that if they don’t notify you, then your portal will update. I guess kind of a precaution to keep you from missing out on the opportunity

Maybe we are! Haha that'd be funny. How did you know about the April 17th though?

Well, that's just what my ALO said. He went through the LEAD program, and said most of the appointments for the Prep School started dropping around the 17th. He also said not to worry because the the rejections happen at the beginning of April. Idk though

Well it looks like I'll be trying again next year. Got an email notifying me that I had not been selected for either prep or direct. Definitely a tough blow, but things will work out in the end. Best of luck to those still waiting! Even though the results were disappointing, it will be nice now that I'm not checking my portal 10 times a day.

Hey! So I notice basic ends like beginning of August and Parents wkd/start of school isnt til end of August...but what happens the 3 weeks in between? Do parents usually come out for graduation from basic? Do cadets go home for a few days? Or is it just 3 weeks of in-processing/getting settled in dorms?

There will not be much downtime at the end of the summer. BCT graduation is on 02-Aug, A-Day is on 06-Aug, and classes start on 08-Aug. C4Cs will have about three weeks of class completed before PW.

The pace will slow down a bit between BCT graduation and the start of class, but Basics will need transition into their academic year squadrons, receive their computers/email, buy books, and then start preparing for the fall semester during this period of time.

Prep School still hasn't found out. Finals are in a couple weeks and rumor has it that we may not find out until close to graduation. Fingers crossed!
