Leave at Flight School

Air Education and Training Command does give off most holidays, but leave at random times is generally not a thing during UPT. Some exceptions apply (weddings and funerals type of things--worked through local leadership).

RUDDER AND AILERONS - NEUTRAL
STICK - ABRUPTLY FULL AFT AND HOLD

And onward...if memory serves (okay, my last Tweet flight was in 1983...) there are 43 words that must be on the proper sequence...six steps?

Or just the classic mantra: "Idle, neutral, aft..."

From memory, without cheating!
Throttles - idle
Rudder and ailerons - neutral
Stick - abruptly full aft and hold
Rudder - abruptly apply full rudder opposite spin direction (opposite turn needle) and hold
Stick - abruptly full forward one turn after applying rudder
Controls - neutral after spinning stops and recover from dive

No, and getting married DURING pilot training would be a HUGE mistake. Before or after, not during.
DH & I got married halfway thru his UPT, on a 3 day holiday weekend -- 40 years ago. I was a year behind in AFROTC so getting married was a priority after I graduated so we could try to line up my assignment to his plane drop. Back then there were a bunch of us on admin hold for assignments while they worked the pipeline. It ended up working out for us with my first assignment, but I know everyone had doubts it would.
I became his boldface quizzer and adapted my schedule to his (early week/late week) Amazing what a 0400 wake-up does for getting wedding thank you notes done.

While at flight school, will you have any leave time that can be used?
My son is currently in UPT. --- Only significant life events per his handbook. He did say prior to graduation and then moving onto his track (UPT 2.5) training, he MAY get a few days in between, but not guaranteed at all. They do give a "family day" once per month and add that onto a holiday weekend, giving some 3 days.

Days are 12 hours in the flight room/flying/SIM--- then back home to study. Fit sleeping and eating in there somewhere.
Falling behind is a big big deal.

You get all of the holidays off. At Vance, they basically closed down for two weeks during Christmas and New Year. My son came home for 2 weeks during that period. I dont remember if this happened at Vance, but for most holidays now (at his current base), they add a family day so they usually have 4 days off. Outside of that, you probably cant leave and honestly you dont want to leave.
