Over the summer I was let go from my job for calling out too many times. I take full responsibility for this and am not trying to make up an excuse. Does the USAFA application ask you if you have ever been fired?

This is just general advice, so you'll have to apply it or not to your own situation. First, approach your application, and everything in life, with basic honesty. Not that you weren't going to, I'm just saying. Second, there are many reasons for calling out from work. If you were going to the beach, that's one thing. If you were trying to keep up with homework or you were ill, those are horses of a different stripe. Either way, be honest and take responsibility. My DS admitted to a couple of "character" flaws. In fact, he used one of the essays to explain what they were and what he does to learn from and overcome them. It may be that these issues prevent an offer of admission. It may be that the reviewer perceived the honesty and maturity it takes to be both self aware and honest about it.

Being successful in the military starts with lessons in humility and the ability to accept and reflect on honest criticism. We aren't robots, as many civilians contend. We are disciplined to understand that personal sacrifices, without the loss of creativity and personal initiative are the foundation of a successful team.

I know this sounds like a bit of an overboard answer in response to how to handle listing a high school job you were fired from, but establishing credible integrity always starts right now.

So, basically, I doubt listing the termination would do you much harm. Minimizing it or showing you learned nothing from it probably would.

I wish you the very best of luck.
