Last year (well it had been awhile but I had done it too for classes, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 too), I volunteered to write a few basics during BCT to offer humor and support. It was fun and I got to know a few young people (I'm not that old!).

If any basic (I usually pick girls but who knows maybe this year I will write to some boys (okay let me rephrase that...young women and young men) wants a few extra letters from a stranger who will offer positive quotes, support, interest etc...let me know.

If anyone else wants to volunteer, please indicate in this thread and perhaps some basics will see and contact you and we will get something going for them.

Good luck 2020. I can just see the motto: "We have vision!" hahahaha

Wow that sounds really awesome! I'm actually right out of high school- I didn't get in this year and I am reapplying next year out of NW prep. But I would still love to write letters if I can! I know a couple people who are going in this year and I'm kind of living through them right now, haha if I can't be there this year at least I can encourage the ones who are!
I'm a girl by the way, and I'm happy to write to guys or gals!

Best of luck everyone and let me know!

I also joined the group to write to Basic Cadets last year. I did write and received a few letters back. It was fun getting to know the two cadets and it was even more fun sending them care packages. I would do it again along with the many letters I intend to write to my DD as she ventures off to USAFA. Just let me know who wants letters. I'm all in.

Female in college. Would love to encourage some other female to stick it out! My letters may be more sporadic because of trips (not every day like I've done for other family in Basic). I too tried to get into USAFA but was not accepted. I will still serve as an officer (here I come AFROTC). Would love to get to know some future officers (females preferred)! PM me if you want some extra letters!

Sure, I'll write a couple letters! I'm a 2LT (about to pin on 1LT) helicopter pilot from Minnesota. I worked 1st BCT as an element leader and then a flight commander, so I have a pretty good idea what basics will be going through. I'm happy to pass on some tips and advice!

I still would really like to write letters if anyone wants it- just pm me your po box

I too would love to write a few letters!! I am a rising senior, with high hopes of attending an academy. I would love to motivate cadets during BCT and maybe remind them of themselves a year ago. Feel free to PM me, male or female!

Basics to be......where are you? We have volunteers.....are you out there? Still training before I-Day? Hiding out? We want to write to you during BCT. Hope you are private messaging the above volunteers. I know I've heard from at least one. Yea!
