Today I found my three letters of recommendation that I thought I had already sent to the Academy but were still in my application file. Now that all required parts of my application are complete, and an admissions board is meeting today where supposedly 90% of appointments are given out, should I bother sending the letters in? I'm afraid that if I do this, I will update my application and they will have to review it again at a later meeting and I may lose my chance at an appointment. Also I'm afraid that it will put a bad face on my application because they are being sent so late. I know that recommendation letters are very important but I am not sure if it is still worth it.

I really don't think they'll look at letters of rec and think to themselves "what a bad candidate!"
If anything it will only make your file stronger.

Can you share what your source is for saying there's a board meeting today where approximately 90% of appointments will be given out?

Probably from my post. I had said that my ALO told me that.

But yes! Send them in as soon as possible!

In years past the bulk of appointments will come out in March and April. Most appointments won't come out before this time due to the fact that many of the Nomination boards are not complete and therefore decisions cannot be made until they have completed. It may be that for Early Action, 90% of those applications will have been reviewed and then deemed for appointment or to wait for Regular Action. Not denying what your ALO told you, but it has not been this way in the past several years. Go back a few years and look at the "MailBox Stalker" threads. Even some of the appointment threads, you can see where and when the appointments came in. Just saying don't be nervous this early in the game, the applications have not even closed yet.
