I am considering West Point as an option for college. I was wondering what it is like to attend West Point as a female? Do your classmates or teachers treat you differently that they do male cadets? Also, I wrestle, so I'm wondering if I would be able to try out for the wrestling team as a female.

People will only care that you're a girl if you choose to flaunt that fact and make them care.

Teachers don't care if you're a girl, Cadets don't care if you're a girl, girls don't care if you're a girl, boys don't care if you're a girl. Just pull your weight like everyone else and nobody will give you a hard time, and if you fail to pull your weight and get reprimanded, it won't be because you're a girl, it'll be because you're not meeting the standard.

You will be able to wrestle as a girl, and you will also be taking a core Boxing course, which I undoubtedly believe you will enjoy, as even the non-boxers generally enjoy it.

If you are talking about the Corps Squad (varsity) wresting team, I believe NCAA rules allow women to compete on men's wrestling teams - you would have to contact the coach to confirm. USMA sports allow walk-on tryouts. However, USMA wrestling is a competitive Division I program. Making the team as a walk-on is tough for anyone, male or female.

Wrestling and Submission Grappling are co-ed intramural sports.

Feel free to pm me if you have specific questions. For the majority of people, its a non-issue if you make it a non-issue. There will always be a few knuckle heads, but you'll find that in the private sector as well. If you do your job well, it doesn't matter what your gender is.
