List of Preppie and Falcon Appointments 2011

Ohmigosh! The letters are starting apparently! Good luck to everyone. Congrats to the Falcon and Prep recipients!!

Congrats to all! It is so great to see the excitement and support that you who receive one of these opportunities will have. It was so quiet and really an unknown journey that my DS embarked on last year. Several Falcons and prepsters here and are very willing to answer questions as needed. Enjoy the journey! The growth is immense!

Congrats!:thumb:

DS has already been accepted at NWP, but we are still hoping for a Falcon.

Same with my DD! And same. Best of luck to us. (And congrats to those receiving BFEs.:thumb:) Gosh, the suspense of it all, but DD's thrilled with the prospect of NWP! I don't think my DS is eligible for Falcon due to him being a year out of HS, but hoping something will come through for him nonetheless. They're both legacy, of course, but I don't think that counts for much except for maybe a few extra points...

Okay....first post ever! I hope it is in the right spot! My son received Falcon Scholarship packet yesterday and we faxed back immediately!! We visited MMI today and he is planning on attending there in the fall!!!!

Hope to hear from some other Falcon's attending MMI and what state they are traveling from!

Congratulation to all!

I am going to be attending MMI next fall too!! I am from Georgia! where are you from? I am very excited to see how this next year is going to be!!:thumb:

I notice that usafacademy4 is attending MMI....was wondering what state you will be coming from?

flydreamer and blackbird, my son also heading to NWP, may I ask what state are you guys from? We will meet you guys on August.
by the way what is DD stand for ?

That sounds great. I am new to these forums, too, and finally figured out DD=dear daughter and DS=dear son. (I hope that's correct, lol!). DS attended NWP last fall as a free agent. Wonderful school, wonderful results. You will never regret the decision.

In a couple of months, when we all know for sure what's happening, we can make a thread for NWP here or over in prep school area for the NWP Class of 2011.

Forgot to add: we're from california

Antfeb, we are in Kentucky now but DW (dear wife) and I are both from California. DS has visited there often and is looking forward to spending 4 months there at NWP.

I see..it is so sweet to know DD, DS, DW, DH ( dear husband ) i guess.
I hope for the best for all of us. my DS will be there as free agent, because the counselor told us that he is not going to receive falcon.
the reason I ask the counselor is because some of the 2010 prep student said that if you are pilot qualified, they will give you falcon, but may be that is not the case, my DS medical status is Qualified and he is a pilot ( has private pilot license ), and he is in instrument rating now. But may be it is not the case either.
i think it is all up to Admission and Falcon Foundation.

I am also new to this and thanks for asking what some of the abbreviations stand for.We are very excited about getting a Falcon. My son will be attending NWP.

I am active duty, and as far as i know no prep appointments have went out yet. (except for the early LOAs that some people received.) I'm dying waiting to hear back.
Good luck to you!!! I know you guys should hear first. Keep all of you in my prayers.

Congrats to all.

Wow, they are really starting to roll out. So excited for all of you who have already received your BFE. We decided not to try and do the free agent because Georgia Tech has a great ROTC program and if you can make it past field training they have a lot of success placing their cadets in the pilot program as well. Prep school out of pocket is a lot of money without any college credit and than still have to go to college. My understanding is that unless you are offered a Falcon Scholarship there are no guarantees and we just don't have that kind of money right now. DD has initiated plan B but is still hopeful maybe a USAFA prep school or Falcon Scholarship will come our way. However, she is excited about plan B because of GT's awesome ROTC program. So which ever path you all take, there are many roads that lead to the same destination (or as we say in Europe: a lot of roads lead to Rome:biggrin:). Good luck to all of us in the next several weeks :thumb: And again congratulations to all those that have received appointments and scholarships, you worked hard, you earned it, go show what you are made off!!!!!:thumb:

We live in North Alabama- MMI is only 3 hours away!
Sorry reply is taking a while.....we are in the middle of all of the tornado damage and internet service is running very slow!

Glad u guys are ok!!! Know AL is a mess, my friend is still without power but thank God it missed her house. We live in North West GA and got the left overs here, but it still created quite a mess. However, we too were spared, it went above us and below us. My thoughts and prayers with all of those affect by these crazy storms.

For the Prep School I have a friend out here (stationed at Ramstein) who was accepted and notified at the LEAD seminar in January. I don't feel comfortable giving out her name but her initials are R.W.

I wish I attended that seminar but I was involved with a Christian leadership seminar with "The Navigators" oddly enough in Colorado Springs over the same exact weekend as the LEAD seminar. Nevertheless, I met a lot of prior cadets and cadet candidates and was also able to shadow a cadet that I graduated high school with. That freshman year is going to be a tough one...
