Hi,

Creating this list to see who all are in same position (have LOA without a NOM) as I am in. Only Username, you can add any other data point as you wish.

Without a nomination you should be focusing on your plan B and C.

If the LOA guarantees an appointment as soon as the candidate receives a nomination (and qualifies medically), what happens if the nomination the candidate receives is from a MOC or Senator who already has their limit of attendees at the academy that issued the LOA?

They are allowed five slots. If they didn’t have any slots available, they wouldn’t issue nominations. They issue nominations for open slots.

Resist the urge to overthink and drown in “what if’s.”

A class will graduate before you potentially get there, opening up one or two appointment slots for the incoming class.
As @A1Janitor pointed out, they wouldn’t go through the effort of creating a slate if they didn’t have a spot(s).

If the LOA requirement is a nom, and the candidate is otherwise fully qualified, an appointment will likely follow. Let the SA worry about what nominating source an appointment is eventually charged to.

During an Admissions FB Live event this basic question was asked. Response: 'USNA would not allow that to happen.' The question was not around LOA but a spot in general.

I believe that was the same answer I heard at CVW.

But there always is the *. We can’t know any unforeseen variables to guarantee it is how I cautiously view it.
