I recently got my LOA a couple days ago. I was just wondering if my LOA will improve my chances on getting a nom?

And can a candidate with an LOA get denied a nom?

I'm just kind of worried because I know that without a nom I'm useless.

Anyone can be denied a nomination. Why would they deny you? Your MOC wants to be able to brag about how many appointees he/she has at USMA. All he/she needs to do is put you on the slate and you are in. Polish up your interviewing skills and be yourself. Do the best you can and try to relax a bit...there's really not much else you can do but play the waiting game. Good luck!

An LoA will certainly increase your chances of getting a nomination, but that doesn't mean that it will guarantee you a nomination. Like the above posted said, just make sure you can give an awesome interview...which I'm sure you will. Why else would USMA admissions give you an LoA?

It does happen, but not very often. You're probably good. Just keep the attitude that you still have to earn that nomination during the interview, and you have a great shot of getting one.
