If you were fortunate enough to receive one, what month did you get it?

Does anyone know whether these operate on a rolling basis - i.e., if you apply early you will hear about LOA early?

Thank you.

They come out whenever the SA wants to send them out. Not necessarily rolling or otherwise. If they spot a candidate that they must absolutely have but there are missing pieces, they will send an LOA to “lock” that person in. Can happen in August or February or April or any other time. For DD, she got hers in February, March and April. And her applications were done in September.

DD got hers in August, not a recruited athlete, application mostly complete. Still had Dodmerb, retake CFA, and nom.

Congratulations to you both. I like your dog profile pic by the way. Curious whether she went to SLE or any other summer seminars?

I got mine in the mail in December after being 3Q'ed a few weeks prior. I finished my application first week in November.
I'm not a recruited athlete.

Most receive theirs in the summer months. I somehow received mine mid-December of this year. Technically it could be at any time, but this far into the admissions cycle, I would not expect any to be given out.

Congratulations! When did you finish your application? Are you a recruited athlete, or have off the charts scores?
I finished it August 16th, I’m not a recruited athlete and I have above average scores. I also went to SLE.

With all due respect, most LOAs do not go out in the summer months. Very few applications are even submitted at that point. LOAs are not doled out on a rolling basis. They are issued on a “worthiness” basis and when they are sent depends a lot on the condition that must be addressed. They are a mystery not worth contemplating, frankly.

Thanks! DD is super excited about the whole process! Fiona is my baby girl, the dog! She did go to SLE and AIM, Coast Guard.

Mine is dated August 19. I went to SLE, passed CFA there, not a recruited athlete, had most teacher recs in, and my essays hadn’t even been started. Passed DoDMERB but waiting on the official appointment...

Mine is dated October 1st. I still had to finish my essays and take the CFA. Not a recruited athlete and was rejected from SLE.

Agree, get your file complete as soon as you can and communicate with your FFR. Do not wait until the last minute to complete your file.

As i have not been accepted to SLE yet, I take comfort hearing from folks who did not get into SLE but got the nom. Did your scores go up significantly from the time you applied to SLE and your actual application?

My DS got his LOA from USMA Oct 6 with conditions to complete school evaluations, nom and candidate statement. He received his LOA with USNA a little later (on Dec. 14) because his file was supposed to be completed first and was delayed by teacher's LOR. But he received his appointment first with USNA less than a month later on Jan 9 right after the Congressman submitted nom in Dec. He both attended SLE and NASS. National Merit Semi-finalist and with 36 ACT. Also attended STEM in USNA as a freshman because he already had great PSAT score.
