LOA received!

My admissions counselor contacted me to clear something up in my application. He said they were reviewing me and just needed to confirm something. I already have everything, plus a JROTC nom, so I was just curious.

Admissions counselors review ALL candidate files before going to the Admissions Board. Unless, your AC specifically told you that the clarification was requested by the Admissions Board, then it is likely that your application package was being prepped for the board....after that is complete, it goes into the queue....anyone's guess to how long it might actually take for your record to get to the board at that point. It doesn't change anything regarding your previous question...though, it doesn't necessarily mean you were already reviewed (unless you were specifically told).

With regard to LOAs...in prior years, candidates have posted that they have received them with only a handful of documents submitted.
 
Big congrats. My son didn't get his appointment until May of this year, so I can assure that as great as it feels now, it will be even better when others are sweating it out in the spring!
 
I may have jumped the gun when I told you to look for the BFE in a few days. My DS didn't get an LOA, He got an appointment pretty early (January) and he already had a MOC nomination. Still congrats are in order.
Tell her she is headed for the most challenging yet rewarding experience. I talked to my DS briefly last night. He said only at USNA do you get up and get to carry the American flag on a leg of the Hero Run, board a bus and march on national television at a major league baseball game, come back and do 3 hours of duty, assemble and get a fantastic 9-11 talk from the Dant and then caffeinate up to do your calculus 2 homework!...He says most of the time he feels like he is in a meat grinder but once in a while he feels like a rock star. But he loves it. Tell your daughter welcome aboard.

Thanks usnabgo08. That is probably what it was. Makes a lot more sense. Thanks for relieving some anxiety.
 
Just understand that "complete pending review" only changes with appointment/LOA decisions and not any of the 3Qs.

Congratulations to your daughter. Ours also received her LOA on Aug 31. Lots of joy for the entire family.
 
I just received a LOA today! I completed the application roughly 2 weeks ago, so I was shocked when the year updated my portal so quickly. Definitely thought there were other candidates that deserve it more than me.
 
I'm a third timer with everything finished except college transcript and BGO interview which will be in the coming weeks. I wish I was fortunate enough to get an LOA and receive some validation for my hard work and commitment.
