I know getting an LOA depends on so many more things than just ACT scores. I'm going to retake again in September to try to improve, but based on my current scores, compared to others who have received an LOA, are they below, at, or above average? 32 Composite. Superscores: 36 in English, 34 in Reading, 30 in Math, 30 in Science, 7 on the Writing, and a 31 Combined Writing/English score.

This is a link to the Class of 2013's profile http://www.usma.edu/Class/2013/profile.asp. Your scores look competitive relative to this information. Based on what I have read, the Class of 2014 will probably trend a little higher when that data is released. I do not think anyone can give you a magic formula for an LOA. Keep up the great work and great things will happen for you.

With those scores, it would be a waste of 40 bucks to retake the ACT. Those are great scores, above average definitely. Don't bother retaking. Work on extracurriculars-becoming a club leader, and practice the CFA. ACT scores are great though! Congrats!

Great overall all scores... but remember, this is an Engineering based school. It wouldn't hurt to have better a better math score

Girl,
I believe I was appointed mostly because of my test scores (all other factors to be equal). They are quite important. Therefore, you want to get as good as possible. So, yes, go retest ACT till you demonstrate your full ability. I recommend that you forget about their average score statistics, because it is WP: There are some soldiers and others who will score lower on the tests but have slots "almost reserved" for them because of their tremendous other factors. That will bring the average scores lower. But for a regular HS applicant, I would aim higher.
Just my 2 cents. Good luck.
Elan
