Congratulations Rufus!

What were your GPA/test scores if you don't mind me asking?

Congrats to you on the LOA. If I can ask, were you recruited athlete and when was your packet complete into USNA?

Faststreet, I am not a recruited athlete and I completed my packet circa early September.

I was not a recruited athlete. I had my entire application complete on September 12, 2013. I completed DODMERB, the CFA, etc etc by September 12th. As for my grades: %95.000-three year average. Ranked 28/402 students. I had 8 seasons of crew. 3 Clubs. I had a Leadership Award and the Ronald Winchester Scholarship at my school (Awarded to 2 seniors who show the caring, leadership traits of Ronald Winchester, an alumni who died during his 2nd tour in Iraq). My highest standardized test scores were as follows: ACT=34 reading, 34 english, 33 math, 28 science. SAT=690 math, 690 writing, 610 reading. I also went to Boy's State. Good luck to everyone!!

Very very impressive. No wonder why you got a LOA. Not so easy for me, still trying to bring those grades up and I'm hoping for some outstanding tests scores (I'm planning on getting a tutor)

Congrats on the LOA and be sure to get that nomination :thumb::thumb:

Is an LOA the only way to be notified of an appointment before April 15th? I think I may be qualified but because of the scarcity of LOA's I am not counting on one. Will I be kept in suspense until next spring?

Hello-So LOA arrives and all you need is a nomination. What are your chances? Is it at least 50%.I am reading "it's the golden ticket".I have read and researched hundreds of posts-but nothing is in stone.Anyone have a clearer picture? Is it true if you get it for academic and not athletes you have a better chance?Any comment would be helpful. Thanks
