My question pertains to recieving a LOA. I've recently recieved an email stating that I have or will be recieving a LOA. Immediately I was excited to see this, however I'm just a bit skeptical since some people on this forum have misinterpreted some emails before and I feel I could possibly make the same mistake.

Are candidates who are recieving LOA's being notified via email this year due to the current circumstances? If so, does anyone know if we will still be recieving physical mail stating we recieved one? And to those who received it, how long did it take to show up in the official correspondence box in the application if it ever does show up.

Thank you in advance for any insight someone can provide!

Unclear what form LOAs are taking or will take. But very easy to deduce whether it’s an actual LOA: Does it say an offer of appointment will be made, conditional on the completion of a certain step or task? Anything short of that is not an LOA.

The exact line from the email reads "You have received or will receive a Letter of Assurance from the Admissions Office at West Point." Then proceeds to explain what a Letter of Assurance is. Then it tells me to complete what I have left which is the CFA, DodMERB, and Nomination.

That means =

If you pass the CFA,
If you become Qualified by DoDMERB or Disqualified by DoDMERB and medically waived by West Point
If you receive an authorizing Nomination,

They will offer you an appointment :wiggle:

Congratulations 🎉..what are some of your EC and other stats that helped you get LOA so early? I am working on my CFA now, essays, CAR.
All others are completed included DoDmerb, SAT, transcripts.

I'm honestly not sure what specific qualities compelled the academy to give me an LOA.

An LOA is issued to those folks that Admissions feels will be offered an appointment, as long as the conditions they state, are met. So, taking the Whole Person Concept into consideration, you met, what they're looking for :wiggle:
