Thank YouYes, but they are few and far between.
Out of curiosity - how many are to be expected every year?Yes, but they are few and far between.
What sport? My son plays football and has been told to expect a LOA. He has been given his appointment to Coast Guard Academy so I am sure that is what is driving the LOA. He loves KP though and that's where he ultimately wants to go (I think). LOLHis application is finished, medical and physical assessment complete; he has been in contact multiple times with the coach.
Thank you, everyone, for your help.
Also a football recruit applying to both usmma and uscga. I have also been told to expect a LOA. I have also heard that LOAs are being given out later this year for some reason. What sport? This goes to both of you. I was a lacrosse recruit and was told to expect an LOA. never got one and was instead offered a prep spot. Don't let coaches get your hopes up, they are not part of the admissions process. Keep your other options open. What sport? My son plays football and has been told to expect a LOA. Very good point. I told my son that exact same thing. Until the appointment is in hand, it's all conditional. This goes to both of you. The swim coach has not mentioned an LOA, but it's swimming and not Football. Also a football recruit applying to both usmma and uscga. I have also been told to expect a LOA. I have also heard that LOAs are being given out later this year for some reason.
How was he notified? My son was notified of his LOA today...he's pumped. Status hasn't changed yet, but he was excited that his read went well.
By the coach that is recruiting him. When he receives something official, I will update. But it sounds like admissions is beginning to read applications. So, that it is a great thing. The year has went by so fast. How was he notified?
