LOA ?

Hello,
My portal status just changed from "under review" to 'LOA-No CFA, No MED, No NOM'
My DODMERB says qualified, Is this a LOA ? will I recieve a letter or email?
Thanks for any advice
LOA is different from DODMERB. LOA is if you finish CFA, NOM and DODMERB you are in. I have a plebe son there now who got an LOA last year after his portal updated he got a letter in the mail in a couple of days.

Also, call your congressman and let them know you got an LOA.

My interviews with senators are both this weekend. I will definitely tell both boards.
Thank you for your help

Congratulations! Make sure to finish sh the remaining requirements and you're in.

Congrats on your LOA! Getting one this early must be a huge relief.

Thank you! It was quite a surprise. I hope DODMERB gets up any running. Is it unusual to hear from senators but not your MOC?

There is no way to predict who will call and who won’t. Sometimes things just show up in portals. Rejoice and move on.

Old fart ancient mariner here. What is an LOA for the Zoo?
From what I understand, it is a Letter of Appointment. Sort of bypasses the normal nomination process, however the candidate still needs to get a congressional nomination AND pass all of the physical and academic requirement. I am even older than you and we didn't have them in my day. Hell, we didn't even have website portals, websites, personal computers, cell phones. . . . . how did we survive?

Technically it’s a Letter of Assurance. It’s same description where you will receive an appointment upon completion of any open requirements. Our DS had to get his congressional appointment and complete his PRT. He got his LOA in October and actual appointment before Christmas in 2019.

I heard from MOC months before Senators but I also came from a very very small congressional district.
