Has anyone been offered an LOA?
The clarification helps. My son recieved an loa last year. He was not a recruited athlete nor did he get one during AIM. His sport is water polo, which is a club sport (sorta). He is a good student though.Oh sorry I did not clarify. I was talking about people who did not receive the LOA from AIM and who have submitted their application.
Your son got his last year, right? I think @Littledebbie3 is asking if any applicants for 2028 have gotten LOAs yet.The clarification helps. My son recieved an loa last year. C/O 2027. Yes that was my assumption as well.Your son got his last year, right? I think @Littledebbie3 is asking if any applicants for 2028 have gotten LOAs yet.

There's no set schedule for LOAs and they don't hand out too many of them, particularly at a smaller Academy such as CGA. LOAs usually trickle out starting in the summer. Often LOA's are based on what they know about an applicant prior to the actual application process, so if they're a high end recruited athlete, they will have already asked for grades and test scores and know those things are solid as well. Some others come from AIM performance along with athletics. Of course they'll have your AIM application and know what your academics look like.Has the academy sent class of 2028 LOA's yet? We were told they begin reviewing apps at the end of Sept, so I didn't know if the send some earlier than that.
Great to see this.So excited my son got the call this morning that he is receiving an LOA for the class of 2028! After getting on the waitlist for the class of 2027, and not getting a spot, this is wonderful news! He is thrilled!
FYI…he will be a naval architecture major, and is not an athletics recruit.
That's awesome. Congrats. What sports does he play in HS?So excited my son got the call this morning that he is receiving an LOA for the class of 2028! After getting on the waitlist for the class of 2027, and not getting a spot, this is wonderful news! He is thrilled!

He did XC and hurdles in track in high school but he attended a small 1A private school and with 2 years missed due to Covid (in Oregon), he was never really able to develop/excel at a highly competitive level. I think he would love to try rowing so who knows what he will do at the academy. That's awesome. Congrats. What sports does he play in HS?
I believe his only condition is to get the application done during early action and no issues with medical or fitness test which he had passed last time so shouldn’t be a problem again. His problem last time was that he decided to apply too late for early action and got it in a week or so before the general deadline and the class was basically full by then. That was the feedback when he met with admissions on why he didn’t get in last time.Great to see this.
They know who persevered on the waitlist the previous year. What a relief!
Any conditions to fulfill? Good luck with those, if any.
