LOA's

Thanks for your opinion, but he/she is incorrect in general although the timeline does show "Jan-May" from USMA. The "you'll hear in January" thing has been said for several years now and the facts have been otherwise.

The post did not say that the statement was from the published timeline, but rather said "applicants, last year class of 2024, began hearing the last week in January...." and nothing more. This statement (which is incorrect), if based upon the "timeline" as you say, doesn't even mirror the timeline as that shows the "beginning" of January anyway.
There are nicer ways to correct people. I'd hate for people to think of you as a keyboard warrior, like I been called here myself by you. @Precise101 made what he/she was a helpful post based on a chart provided by USMA. He/she was off by a few weeks, but it doesn't call for him/her to be accused of misleading people. People should be able to post freely on SAF and not get lectured to if they had good intentions.

Oh goody, pull out the popcorn! Max Max Warrior Keyboard Thunderdome!
Bring back Parent!

This thread was about LOAs. Anyone want to hear ad nauseum about my DD's 4 LOAs?

Here is a really good post from @richard_miao , on USAFA Class of 2023!

Thanks (again) for your opinion and I am sure @Precise101 appreciates it as well. If you consider correct information to be "lecturing" then I feel bad for you. If you are still upset over the Milley thread, I hope you get over that soon as well!

Typical candidate:
  • Eligible for nominations from VP, District MOC, 2 Senators, and appointment from those sources and as Qualified Alternate. Also as Additional Appointee, but unlikely for a candidate that is not a recruited athlete or diversity candidate
  • Not a recruited athlete, diversity candidate, soldier, child of career military, or child of Medal of Honor winner
Such candidates are very unlikely to be appointed before January and should follow the timeline published by USMA. The chance increases for the small number of candidates in this category with LOA's, but even then they should not plan to hear before January.

Note: Those only applies to USMA. Other SA's have different timelines and LOA policies.
