Is it still around? I haven't seen it circulated around for a while because, when I have read it, it is hilarious. I certainly think it would be a fun extracurricular activity to join. Does anyone have any information on it?

The Log (monthly magazine produced by and for Mids) is awesome!!! Our mid brings issues home with him, and we all read them. Of course, a lot of it is "inside humor" that we don't really get, but it's a great peek into life at Bancroft Hall. Very, very funny and irreverent! :thumb:

During my days at the academy, the Log was alive and well. Apparently it was forced to go out of a circulation for a while by one of the Commandants who thought it was a bit too irreverent.

It is up and running again.

And, yes, it is very much "inside humor" that is intended mostly for the midshipmen. Many alums "get" the humor, however.

There are several archived copies here from the ancient past:

The Log is like a pop-up sponge...comes back to life, something non-PC occurs, and it gets smushed again. I had the honor of being the Officer Rep for The Log when I was at USNA as a Battalion Officer, and the creative and pointed humor of midshipmen about "life as a mid" was truly belly-laugh-inducing.

Could be alive, might not be, always a toss-up. It's an ECA, extra-curricular activity, similar to the yearbook and other activities. There are always briefs on all those.

The USNA Library has back copies, fun to find and read.:shake:
