Logging in 2017

Hello!

My son accepted his appointment and is waiting for his "Logging In" packet. Has anyone received their Logging In 2017 yet? He called in March and they said it would come by the last week in April.

Thankfully, we found the Logging In document for 2016 online as a pdf document, which we expect is similar at least in training and preparations. Because of finding that, we knew to do the following:

1. Apply for TWIC
2. Apply for Passport
3. Schedule wisdom teeth removal
4. He is following the fitness schedule

Called KP? or called the TWIC? What was your question?
Immediately take care of the TWIC and passport. They both can take some time. It's great you are scheduling the wisdom teeth pulling and great he's training according to the guidelines.

I'm glad you posted this Logging in 2017 Thread. It was up awhile back.
I hope everyone reads this and gets to read the internet Logging in while waiting for the paper version.

One word of advice. Yes, using prior year Logging in is a good reference point, but I'd wait until '17 document arrives before purchasing anything. There were some differences from '15 to '16. Also, the '17 curriculum is being updated, and that could impact some item requirements.

p.s. Time will pass VERY quickly for you and your plebe candidate. It is quite the experience.

Time will pass very quickly between now and the time your PC goes to indoc. I found the first year felt like 2 years, do to phone call restrictions. Once ds started heading out to sea, it went faster, especially by the 8 month period, which sounds weird.

Study Physics 1 and Calc 1 NOW as much as you can. They're plebe killers!! Check out Khan Academy for both and work your way through. You'll be very very glad you did!!!!!

As hard as it may be, do not coast thru your last few classes (especially math and science) of your senior year. PC's will be tested for proficiency during indoc. Stand tall and proud and enjoy the next few weeks. The simple fact USMMA students report to school on July 2nd, is the first major difference between them and those attending "regular" college.

Logging In Arrived Yesterday

Thanks, everyone!

Yes, the coveted Fed Ex package arrived 10 May 2013. It sure brightened DS's day, as we were just returning from his wisdom teeth extraction! We printed everything out. I can't wait for the paperwork to end, however.

He's taken Calculus at Iowa State and AP Physics but you're right, brushing up is always smart! Oh boy do I appreciate you guys already

Being from the Midwest we had to travel to another state for the TWIC appointments. We did the first visit the same week as the wisdom teeth extraction. You cann see that in the photo ID, poor puffy squirrel. The second trip we were able to put off until after graduation so DS didn't have to take anytime from school. No matter what the TWIC website says make sure you call the location you plan to go to for their hours. The one in Louisville closed at noon on Fridays and that was not listed on the website at that time.
Both those visits gave me a five hour roundtrip drive and a nice lunch on the river for ( just) me and my son. It was a nice errand to have to complete.
