Just want to dip my toes into the water. DD and I have been relying on the insight from this forum for quite some time now...We actually discovered this site last Dec/Jan. DD has been progressing through the process for the Class of 2021 with applications to USMA, USAFA, and USNA; we've often checked this forum to see how others are doing. There is a sense of comfort knowing we're not alone. She's in the middle of the NOM process too, having met already with one of our senators and our congressman...second senator interview is scheduled for 19Nov. DD has participated in USMA SLE this past summer and USAFA FVE last month. We are, like many of you, deep into the process. Having gone through what we have...both from the DD & Parent perspective...we feel that we are getting to the stage where we are starting to have more specific questions. We also feel that we can contribute and share with others as well. I purposely say "we", because DD is quite motivated to share her perspective too. It's a daily conversation....DD asks, "What's going on with the forum traffic today?" I'm sure many of you can relate. This forum is a great opportunity for us parents to be involved with the process. As our S & D's make their way through the gauntlet, it's hard for us to just be cheerleaders....but cheerleaders we must be. Admittedly, there's times when I've wanted to call various folks to gather information, but it's DD's journey. This forum does scratch an itch....as a parent I can be involved. I can gather perspective from others going through what we're going through. That has proven to be very beneficial. Now it's our turn to take a more active role. We hope to help others as so many before, and currently, are doing for us. We look forward to this journey, and we look forward to the new friendships that await.
Very wordy way of saying, "Hello".
