DS has a report time of 0615.... does anyone know of a place that is open very early or 24 hours where we can have breakfast. We are staying at hotel within walking distance to USNA so preferably a place close by we can walk to. I looked online and so far the earliest I found in area was 0630.

Thank you!

Chick & Ruth's is THE place for breakfast in Annapolis...but just checked online and it opens at 6:30. If you are staying in town tonight, might check in with them and see if they are opening early tomorrow They are pretty in tune with USNA , and would expect that if anyone is going to capitalize on the opportunity feed 1000 new Plebes and families, it would be them. (Think of the marketing ..."The Last Breakfast ...."). If that doesn't work, maybe Dahlgren Hall Opens early on I Day. Good luck tomorrow...

What about seafood place for tonight?

There is a long thread on this forum with recommendations for eating in Annapolis.. So many classics that I can't recommend just one.. Middleton Tavern and McGarvey's are still must visits whenever I am in town. (CAPT MJ is a local, and can probably recommend based on how good the restaurant is, --my recommendations are more nostalgic). I also have to give a shout out for Chesapeake Bay Brewing...its a new brew pub on West Street. I've not been there yet, but owner is a Classmate.

Thank you so much.... we are about an hour away and so excited. It is so evident by all of the detailed and passionate post that our DS is going to more of a special place than we could have ever imagined.

The Boatyard in Eastport is an excellent seafood place.

When I was a plebe we stayed in a bed and breakfast, and the owner got up early to cook for the two families staying in the house on I-day. I agree with the poster above, I would expect Naval Bagels to be open, but I'm not sure how easy it will be to maneuver with a car that day,

The Double T Diner is 24 hour, old-school huge menu with midn-sized breakfast platters. Not walking, you'd have to jump in the car and drive a few minutes down West St.
Located at the West St./Route 2 intersection.

Naval Bagels opens at 0530. The bagel of choice for mids, with cream cheese variations but also breakfast egg/cheese/bacon sandwiches on bagels. Likely to be a drive for you, but not far.
609 Taylor Ave, in Graul's Shopping Center, across from Navy Stadium.

Chick 'n' Ruth's could well be jammed, and your plebe's stomach will already be clamped in knots, and a nervous wait won't help. Miss Shirley's doesn't open until 0700.

I think even Capt. MJ (along with Hoops) would agree that one of the finest seafood places is in Eastport (a short and pleasant walk from DTA) directly across from the Boatyard....the charming, delightful (albeit a bit expensive) O'Leary's. 100% seafood, 100% fresh and well made along with some wonderful cocktails.

If not this time around for you, perhaps the next, but definitely put in on your seafood bucket list.

(I was there just last weekend and it never disappoints and by sheer coincidence I'm going back this weekend to help celebrate DS's 21st birthday. Can't think of a better place to buy him his first taste of sin....if you're there, I'll buy you one too!)

We went to Boatyard tonight, but got there too late. Their kitchen closes at 10pm. Ended up at Rams Head.
