My school makes all rising seniors (even those of us who are way ahead of the game) prepare a simple type college packet with worksheets on our top two schools. My number one choice is USAFA and there are a few obscure questions in this packet that I was hoping someone might know the answer to.

-How big is the library?

-Where does this college rank in categories like best campus, student life, etc.

-Do they have tutoring services and/or writing center is I need them? What do they include?

-Does the college offer bus service from campus into town to shop and attend events?

-Does the college provide bus transportation home or to transit on weekends and/or holidays?

These are the only ones from the packet that I didnt know or couldnt find the answers to so THANKS for the help!

The library has over 600,00 volumes.
Usually No.1 for best access to faculty.
Yes--advisers, computer and print resources.
No
Buses to the C-Springs airport and Denver around Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Spring Break.

1. Not sure what measure you would like to use for how big the library is, but it has three floors, more detailed stats here: http://www.usafa.edu/df/dflib/astats.cfm
2. Not sure...this one is skewed because "student life" is so different. I would just put something like not really applicable...
3. Yes, all teachers will give students Extra Instruction (EI) as much as needed and keep office hours throughout the duty day (when they are not teaching). Also, departments such as chemistry which have tough freshman core classes have tutoring rooms in the evenings and there is a writing center and tutoring center also open in the evenings. The evening tutoring center focuses on math and science (officially the "Quantitative Reasoning Center")
4.No, but it probably will soon, we have been trying to get it forever. Someone may have heard the latest, I know they were close to getting a bus to the mall near the end of the year last year and am expecting it to happen soon.
5. Yes, you can buy a bus ticket for all vacations except summer leave, but it is easy to catch a ride with someone

Hope that helps

Thanks to both of you. Those answers are just what I needed. The entire packet is kind of funny (and slightly annoying) to fill out just because USAFA is not your typical college. In every cost line went $0 and the 'What steps do you need to take to apply?' section did not have quite near enough lines. :shake: Well nonetheless I am proud to have such a unique and GREAT place in my packet.

Perhaps you can talk to your GC BEFORE you put too much work into this packet. Sounds like she/he just wants you to be aware of typical college questions before she/he has to do too much work on your behalf.
