My personal preference when it came to shoes were leathers even after we earned the privelege of coroframs. I found them much more comfortable and cooler on the feet. As an upperclassman I always asked for leathers over frams for future shoe issues. Once you get a good base shine on the leather shoes it only takes a couple minutes a day to keep it looking good. Once a fram shoe gets scratched you really cant do anything with it and you either get new shoes or walk around looking like a bum.
Also, you cant have enough sweat socks. I always wore a pair underneath my black polyester socks ... its much better on the feet and the air quality.
