After the long, frustrating, and just all-around hard decision making process between the normal college life and the military college life, I have made my decision.

I am going to VMI with an Army ROTC 4 Year scholarship. I'm pretty psyched about it, and thank you to everyone on this forum that helped me along the way, especially you RahVaMil, I appreciate it.

See a few of you there possibly.

Steve

Congrats! Either decision would have been a great one. I'm personally glad to see you chose VMI. That just adds one more from this forum that will be there in August and most likely June with me. Congrats on a great selection and I look forward to seeing you and the others in about two months.

Great choice!

I wish you the best. So did anything in particular help you choose or just a combination of things?

More or less a combination of things. Since I'm going to be an officer in the Army I figured a military school will help me reach my potential better than a civilian school. The AROTC program at VMI is a lot better in my opinion than what I saw at Loyola. Plus VMI has the majors I want, and I was just generally more impressed with what VMI had to offer me than what Loyola did. Not to say Loyola isn't a great school, because it is. But you got to look at yourself 4 years from now, and thats what I did and VMI just made the fit I guess.

Congratulations! You've made a great choice. Go be a

person of integrity, good, and brave. Thank you for being willing to serve.

Blessings to you.

Congratulations! I remember stressing over the decision too, but it will be worth it in the end.

and now that VMI and the Citadel will be playing each other in football again, I can say that I'll see yall VMI '13 people later

Haha definitely man. I was also looking forward to the VMI v.s. Army game (best friends is a cadet). I'm kinda bummed out that both are away games; so idk how that whole situation with cadets going to either of those games could or might work. Either way should be great times.

Congrats on finally makin the choice. hopefully see ya there although i am goin NROTC and then on to be Naval officer (pilot hopefully)

Sweet man. Yeah, I'm sure I'll bump into you at one point or another. The school isn't too big. It's too bad we can't start a facebook group like people going to the normal colleges to. But from what I hear making a "VMI class of 2013" facebook group is a bad idea.

Haha for sure. Yeah I've been warned by at least five people to not initiate or join any sort of "group/club". I can see where they're all coming form seeing how we're not a class or even a part of the school, just pre-strains. Either way it should be fun. I'm interested to see how many people go to STP. I talked to one girl from my overnight who was already accepted at the time like me and had mentioned she'd be their as well. Good luck to you guys and all of the guys going to the Citadel. I had a hard time turning that place down.
