A couple of people have mentioned to me that all members of the military are required to get the COVID vaccine. I can’t seem to find any official announcement so I figured I’d come on here to ask for insight/thoughts.

I’m assuming they’ll mandate it come an FDA approval, but I’d appreciate the option to choose for myself.

Multiple reports and planning guidance state vaccine for COVID19 will be mandated by SECDEF when FDA approves and that is anticipated to be around 1 September.

At that point unless a medical provider approves an exemption servicemembers will be required to get vaccinated.

Once it gets FDA approval it will become mandatory and thus your right to choose is no longer a thing.

Eh...not really news...had to take (I'm gonna spell this incorrectly) pyridostigmine tablets during desert shield/storm...had to get a bunch of anthrax shots later...

I think, but am not sure, they were approved at a later date (after we did them).

CO at Fort Rucker is getting proactive. All service members on the base will have to carry proof of vaccination. If they're not masked they can be asked to show proof of vaccination. Otherwise, they'll have to mask up.

I think the Military is setting a September timeline to “prepare” to provide vaccines to all service members. As for the approval of the vaccine… the FDA has not indicated when it will grant full approval.

The estimated earliest time is 27 Oct 2020 for Moderna and 31 Jan 2023 for Pfizer.

Some hurdles they are facing:
  • Johnson & Johnson vaccine now has to attach a warning label for Guillain-barre syndrome (GBS) - GBS is a neurological disorder in which the body's immune system damages nerve cells, causing muscle weakness or in severe cases, paralysis (Source FDA)
  • Pfizer and Moderna now have to attach a warning label for heart inflammation in children and young adults (source FDA)
    • There have been recent reports of hemorrhage, blood clots, and thrombocytopenia following administration of Covid-19 vaccines that have raised concerns over the safety of genetic vaccines for people with pre-existing coagulation disorders or those on certain medications (Source NIH)
    • Many children with no underlying conditions developing myocarditis and pericarditis after the Covid vaccine
  • Deaths after Covid vaccinations have sky-rocketed to over 9,000. (Source VAERS)
  • Moderna is launching studies of 1,000 women to determine if their vaccine is causing miscarriages.
I am not for or against the vaccine, but I am very concerned about the data. Just some food for thought.

I completely agree and appreciate you posting this. So many folks I know clap back at me thinking I’m radically against the vaccine when I’m simply a fan of true data.

Who did that?
