March 31st Last Day for USAFA appointments?

OK - so the only thing we think we know if that more appointments are forthcoming shortly. No surprise there. I also wanted to mention that the BIG wave of appointment already offered started on March 16th. Its interesting that a new "update" occurred on March 17th. Wouldn't it make more sense for the update to happen FIRST??

Maybe we should wait and see what happens tomorrow ;) and over the next few days.
 
It's the same application NORAD used to track Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. USAFA gained access to it via the tunnels connecting the 2 installations.

Appointments came out after Christmas (when NORAD was no longer tracking Santa) and Sunday was Easter and Easter Bunny tracking has ended, so it makes sense the final wave of appointments will be out tomorrow

As a software engineer, I can say that we update our software (portals) for various reasons: security updates, windows updates, updates in status/data. When my DD was going through this process, there was a lot of speculation about that update date at the bottom as well. Turns out that *sometimes* it meant something important and *sometimes* it didn't.

So, I highly recommend not pinning your hopes on a date found in a status line on a website. :)
 
I'd just like to point out that there were people in my squadron who received their appointments two weeks before I-Day.. So even though people have spent years trying to stalk the process, there is a certain arbitrary nature that you cannot track. My first two rejections from USAFA were discovered by calling the admissions department directly - HOWEVER I highly discourage doing this, as they are very overloaded and in retrospect, me calling wasn't helping them to do their jobs any faster.

Good advice, I think just talking about it and these forums seem to help even if there aren't really clear answers.
I have only been on here for a couple of days and it has helped me as a mom so much!

And now my application reads v2.46w released march 31 so are you saying now it's going to say something tomorrow? It is probably just system work they are doing, especially since the last version was a 2.46v, so I wouldn't take it too heavily. Just gotta keep staying strong!
 
I would suppose that since there hasn't been a single MOC call reported this evening that there will not be any portal updates tomorrow morning. I'd love to be dead wrong though... But imagine an appointment on April Fool's!!!

I would have to hand it to the Academy, I would probably be really suspicious if they do that.
 
Our DSs portal updated at 6am ish when he received his appt. He recd an email that he had a new message.

His Congressman called our home and spoke to him the next evening. I think it was established on another thread that the gibberish at the bottom of the portsl page means nothing for your candidate.


Seems like there isnt a whole lot of rhyme or reason to things. I keep bugging his buddy every day, who is still waiting. Good luck to all of you still waiting.

MOC don't always call. My DD had a NOM from her Senator and her Congressman. Neither one of them called. She found out about her appointment via an email from USAFA telling her to check her portal. So, even if you don't get a call, you may still get that appointment. Don't give up hope.
 
Data synchronization is taking place with the admission server right now.

Nothing here. My DS checked at 6 am EST and it was syncing. He checked again at 6:30. It was finished, but no portal change.

Yes I realize that, but it was mentioned on the forums that they usually sync the AFA computers at 3 AM Mountain time, which would be 5 AM EST. I've seen other candidates check their emails at 6 am and they have one waiting for them. I was hoping my DS would have something waiting for him this morning. Do you ever feel like that portal will NEVER change????
 
Has yet to synchronize as of 0702....
