March Army ROTC Board

My daughter received the Army ROTC scholarship letter last week for the 4-year scholarship but one of her top choices (Auburn) was not listed. She had been accepted to Auburn and given an academic scholarship so I'm not sure why it wasn't one of her options on her letter. Anyone else have this experience? Know of a solution?
Thanks.

Chances are her top choice wasn't on there because there isn't a scholarship allocation available. There has to be a scholarship left at the school for it to be offered.
The ROTC scholarships aren't offered from the school so being accepted or having an academic scholarship don't come into play as far as that is concerned. (You have to obviously be accepted and attend the school in order to ultimately use the scholarship there.)

Get in touch with the PMS or ROO at Auburn and inquire as to whether there are any National scholarships allocations left. Let them know that this is your daughter's first choice and see what they can do to help.

You can always request a transfer once you have accepted the scholarship. In order to transfer there are two things that need to happen.
1) You need to have been accepted into the school
2) There needs to be an open allocation

If you read the scholarship letter, come May letters will be sent out asking if you intend to use the scholarship at the school you confirmed on your offer. It is then that you can inquire about using it at another school and it will be taken under consideration.

Thanks for your help! My daughter doesn't want me contacting anyone on her behalf. But, I'll pass this information on to her and hopefully she'll contact the proper people. This is such a confusing process! Thanks for the suggestions and congrats to your son!

My son did not apply for an Academy, just the 4 year ROTC scholarship. We were told he was going before the April Board.
Nothing posted on the Scholarship status page today.
However, in todays mail was an April 8th postmarked letter from Concorde with instructions for getting physical examinations set up.
Does this mean anything?

Seems like this happened to someone else not too long ago.
I think they ended up with a scholarship.
Could have been on this thread. It's worth reading through for it.

This would be consistent with being awarded a campus scholarship as units can set your authorization for their campus scholarship. Have you been in contact with any schools recently?

The Major at his top choice school told him during the interview in February that "he thought he'd get a 4 year scholarship" and "to wait for the DoDMets paperwork".

His 3rd choice school's scholarship officer tried to contact my son in March.

On the DodMets website for status, it says "autoapproved".
I don't know what that means, but of course, we'll schedule the physicals via Concorde asap.

On another post, I read that the Army doesn't want to spend money testing those who are not getting a scholarship.

But we're not assuming anything, and we don't want to be impatient. It's getting late in the year, and down to the wire, so just a little anxious. And excited.

Best of luck to everyone!

You might want to get back to these folks and ask if they sent you scholarship paperwork, because usually it gets to you before Concorde does. And typically you have a very limited time to sign and return the paperwork to the unit (not necessarily 30 days - as they my want to reuse it if you refuse it).
