March-how important?

Just as a FYI - my daughter did not have her medical waiver before she was offered CGAS last year. However, they reviewed her very soon afterwards and then the waiver came. So, if you are still waiting on a waiver, don't lose hope!

That's correct, the medical qualification (or waiver) deadline is not until June 1.

recommendations?

Maybe this is a question for Luigi...do recommendation letters actually boost "points" or simply affirm/confirm the tangibles of the application scores, activities, etc. It would seem to me that an adult's insight into an individual could mean more than "captain of the football team" (which might mean nothing more than the most popular guy on the team)...I am sure there is a fine line and discernment necessary...so just wondering what you think. And thanks a million for the Larry Mullen recommendation--what a Godsend!

From what everyone has told me, the academy is looking for well rounded young adults. Recommendation letters just help to identify what kind of person you are. If you get a recommendation letter from someone that knows you well than it will let admissions know more about your personality and character. In the end, admissions wants a specific type of person and a good recommendation letter can help distinguish you a little more than a list of achievements filled out on your application.
