March Madness SAF Bracket Challenge 2017

Only a few more hours to submit your bracket!

I'm in. As a Nevada graduate I had to choose them to win a game. I'm all about loyalty. Of course my school loyalty didn't go too far since I didn't project them to win the next game.

DS1, DD1, DW are UCLA alums.
DS2 is currently at Nevada,
My undergrad is St Mary's,
My Grad school is Florida State,

Argh! Who to root for!!!?

I just did my picks...out of loyalty to my DSs, I have their schools, Michigan and Michigan State, making it past the first round (and then getting knocked out...they better not bust my brackets in the 1st round!)

Oh geez.

I felt 100% that the Zags would take it all, until I watched a bunch of teams I'd never seen play. Who is that GIANT on UCF? It didn't help with the SMU 'Stangs (son in PhD program there so like running, had to go with the family bank account, er, I mean, alma mater).

It still irks me to see full-ride scholarship players on state university teams who are foreigners. I think those state monies should go to Americans, residents of those states. But just my pet peeve. It really stung in fencing though because the sport is so small.

I see that a lot at Saint Mary's in California. They have recruited heavily from Australia, for pretty good players. Coach Bennett has kept them competitive, but it certainly has taken some scholarships from our home grown youth.

It's the same way in swimming. At the Olympics last year, most of the elite swimmers for other countries had the benefit of training and coaching at US universities. And then they compete against us. Auburn, for example, had at least a half dozen Olympians swim for other countries -- none made the US team last year.

At least St Mary's is a private college. But when you see four of five starters for a Midwestern team are from other continents - argh.

I do love to watch St Mary's, though they were not stellar against the Zags last game.

I just watched that game too and Notre Dame: what the heck were you thinking?

Zags tied 19 all last I saw, against SDSU.

Congrats, campe18 who had a nearly perfect bracket yesterday!
I'm way down the list, but did anyone else have MTSU winning? They are one of my accounts that I call on and have a strong athletic program.

No, but I did call Xavier's win over Maryland!

I watched the first half of the Wisconsin game last night but got called away during halftime and missed the finish. Go Badgers.
