March Mass appointment offers

My school is very small, so we just do it whenever the Junior class decides. Last year, my class had it half way through April. We also have to compete against the bigger schools for DJ's and such. We live in the middle of nowhere, some DJ's won't even come out here...it's too far!

A LOA is a Letter of Assurance. It is when the Academy's "accept" somebody early, without a nomination. They will be 100% accepted as soon as they recieve proper medical waivers and a nomination.

Appointments

I was just told by admissions that almost all offers have already been mailed.

When does the academy start rejecting people. Theyve been offering appointments forever, but have they started actually telling people they will no longer be considered? Or will they just keep all of us waiting for those few final slots to be given up until I-day?

HOW???

How do you get an LOA? does it happen once your file is complete, during the application process?

The Air Force Academy website states:
If you are a highly qualified candidate, have a nomination and your records are complete, we may notify you of an appointment as early as November. If you don’t yet have a nomination, we’ll send you a letter of assurance. As soon as you receive your nomination, you’ll receive an appointment. To be considered for an early appointment, our records must include all correspondence about you, as well as the following documents:

Official results of required examinations (SAT or ACT and CFA)
Candidate activities records
High school transcript
Drug and alcohol abuse certificate
Personal data record
If we don’t have your medical clearance or your preparatory school or college transcript, you will receive a conditional appointment.

There you have it. If I'm not mistaken, there are very few Letter of Admissions that go out. The majority of appointments go out in March.

I had my file completed by the end of October. As soon as it was complete, they took it to panel, where they decided if I was good enough to go. They only send out LOA's to very highly qualified candidates. And most people don't get them, and the Academy's say "don't even expect them". I know that there were only two given to people in the state of Utah, and one of them was to me and the other was to someone who was medically disqualified and was waiting for a waiver.

Looks like USAFA corrected the spelling error.... mine says "ENCLOSED"
