Good story. In addition to the obvious, the best thing about the story is what a Marine keeps handy in her car.

Semper Fi, Cpl. Nowak.

I carry a fire-extinguisher, flashing strobes, a tow strap and chains, jumper cables, tools, trauma kit, mylar blankets, Clif bars, and Pedialyte in my car.
I have used them all (except the tourniquet), at one time or another. You mean everyone doesn't do that?

Add a roll of good Duct Tape! I've used it to stop the bleeding on a deep forehead wound. Also freeze dried bacon crumbles.

The duct tape reminds me of a famous mountain climber who addressed the USNA Brigade during a Forrestal Lecture. During a difficult ascent, he tore a gash in his arm. He used SuperGlue to hold it together and stem bleeding. The Brigade just loved that.

To return to the story above, I just loved the fact this Marine went into action without a moment’s thought.

My cousin is an ER doc, at a family party my son gashed his forehead. Cousin’s plan was Super Glue, said it’s the same product as he uses in the ER.......just by a different name

Super glue and Dermabond are different by a molecule or something. Super glue will work but can damage tissue.

I've tried super glue, ending up gluing my fingers to the patient.
I was holding the head of a slippery infant once while a pediatrician was applying Dermabond to a forehead laceration. The kid was moving so much that the glue got on my gloved fingers which transferred to the left eyelid. I thought the mom was gonna pass out and hit the deck when she saw little darling’s lid stuck shut. Fortunately antibiotic ointment rubbed quickly to the area broke up the seal and the eye popped open. A goat rope would have gone smoother but the cut finally got closed and they went on their way.
