Does anyone know when/how Marine Nrotc candidates are notified of the outcome from the February board?

I'm not sure there was a board in Feb or if the next board has happened yet. In the past I've seen folks not get a positive or negative notification until early to mid April. Of course this year could be entirely different.

you can check your application status here

DD just informed me she was not selected for a scholarship. Yesterday it was still pending so looks like they’re updating today. On to plan B!
Just wanted to say I am sorry to hear this news. My DS was also turned down for MO scholarship. He learned of it through the portal yesterday. No official word from the recruiter yet. It is nice to know the answer as soon as possible, but it would also be nice to find out in a little less impersonal way.

What a bummer. I'm sorry to hear about yours as well. Thankfully there are backup plans in place but the rejection still stings a bit. At least now we know and we can move on.

My DSs portal changed and has a lot of additional info in it now including his schools and test scores. Maybe that is a good sign. He is district 6

DDs portal says her application was not selected so that sounds like a good sign to me!

For those who were not selected, don't give up on the goal. You can reapply, go PLC, or even OCS. If you attend a school with a NROTC program, join the unit and works towards the other options.

Great points! I am slowly learning that not getting a scholarship isn't the end of the road. Which reminds me of the other opportunities the Marine Corps offers like the Pedro Del Valle Leadership scholarship. Anyone know how that works? I'm thinking DD said yes to that option when filling out her application.

those are part of the application for the main scholarship. Limited to a certain set of schools

I am in district 6 and also see the large page with personal information and test scores etc. Still no decision though...
DS is in District 6 as well. He received a call from recruiter Monday. He was told 2 other candidates from our area along with DS represented the local recruiting area well. He said he did. It know the outcome of the board but that it is over and formal word would come out when MARADMIN posts results in April. DS portal still shows his application is at Board selection.

From reading past years posts, it seems like in some cases the local recruiters notify the candidates (if they are successful) before the portal change. The portal change discussed above, where more detail is posted about schools, test scores and other demographic info seems to indicate that the package has been sent from the District to the NSTC Selection/Placement Office for school placement. This step seems to be different for NROTC candidates. The process of school placement can take some time, which may explain the gap between the calls from the local recruiters and portal change to the final selection notification. Good luck to all.
