Marine Option NROTC Status?

We got a "Thanks but the competition was intense" email and "you might want to consider PLC".

DS plan now, once we hear from all the colleges at the end of the month is to pursue NROTC as a program student next year and re-try for a 3 year scholarship. If that falls through then he'll pursue PLC.

I would say, if you haven't heaqrd yet - it might be promising news. I would think you're at least still being considered.
 
I was told by my OSO last week that I received the Scholarship and that I would get the package in the mail this week. Has anyone received theirs yet?
 
I still have yet to hear anything... my OSO told me yesterday morning he would call those who got the scholarship, but those who are rejected would have to wait for letters. My online status says the same. I am in Southern California if that makes any difference.
 
Thanks for the info. The recruiter that handled my app was transferred to Massachusetts, so the only contact I have is the Captain that processed all of New Jersey and I don't want to email him yet. If I hear anything I'll let you know.

Actually, I think the selection process is done, done, done as I think all the districts have reported their choices to Pensacola, which makes selections official and assigns schools to the successful applicants based on their national rank order. If you haven't heard yet, (and my DS hasn't) I just don't know what that means. It could just mean the proverbial "its in the mail."
 
I think it's strange that we've received our results but you haven't....I would think that all results would be released at the same time to avoid this confusion.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of you!

yeah I mean, I really haven't heard anything, emails, calls or anything. Kinda strange.

Did your online status change for your son when he was notified?

Yes. His status changed from the "your application is at district headquarters for selection" message to "congratulations, you have been selected..."

Hopefully you will hear something very soon!

I don't know, I have a good feeling that its "in the mail", especially since all the schools I chose and were accepted to seem to be all "full." Oh well, this is why I had a plan B :thumb:
 
I haven't heard yet either.

I called my recruiter and he doesn't know anything too.

We have all waited this long though...just a little bit longer.
 
I got a message from the Captain that processed the New Jersey applicants last night. Missed his call ! As soon as I hear from him I will post the outcome. My on line status is still stating at Marine Corps for Selection Boards.
 
Still nothing here in Texas. My status still says "at Marine Corps District for processing."

Has anyone who knows they havent received the scholarship, status change at all?
 
No news in Oklahoma. Wish I knew how many spots are available nad how many people applied! My son is hoping to go to OU so he can use his OHLAP and (hopefully) NROTC scholarship and be pretty much covered for everything.
 
The Captain for New Jersey left me a message to call him on Thursday, he called while I was in school. Still waiting on a call back. Hopefully, I'll have something to report tomorrow one way or another.
 
For all of you still waiting just hang in there a few more days. I received my scholarship right around this time last year and it was from the last board so it must be coming soon for you all. Also, whether you receive a scholarship or not keep your head up :thumb:
 
I spoke to the New Jersey rep yesterday. He advised me that I did not get the scholarship and that the Marine Corps issues 20 less than they did last year. My status is not yet updated. Good Luck to the rest of you that haven't heard anything.
