Marines doing that voodoo that we do so well (Post yours too)

"Martin, who intends to obtain a doctorate degree in her post-Marine Corps life, asked that any money that might have been spent on her retirement gifts or flowers be donated to Marine Corps education foundations “so service members and their families have additional opportunities to pursue educational goals, advancing their careers and elevating their lives,” the release said."

This Marine's life of service isn't over. A new chapter is about to be written.

The most impressive Marine I ever met in person was Col. Bill Dabney VMI class of '61 who was head of the Naval ROTC unit and later Commandant while I was a cadet. He also married the daughter of General Chesty Puller.

Can you imagine rolling up to Chesty Puller's house to take his daughter out for the first date? I'm trembling typing this.

Plus HMC George Piercy who had been on my ship
I left Camp Lejeune (my first tour there) after reenlisting for a DDG out of Pearl Harbor. I was at sea when I heard about the bombing. Didn't know for sure the extent of the casualties until later.

"One of the most Marine things they could have done." The CMC and SgtMaj of the Marine Corps wishes Marines a Happy Birthday.
