Marines help little racer

Saw this this morning but couldn't access it. Great Story.

More than a story; it’s a way of life

I found this story wonderful in its clarity and its simplicity. And the pictures spoke a thousand words. Now let me say that even though I’m not big on giving advice to strangers, I’m going to give advice right here, right now, in this case. And here it is: Read this story – all of you who are in the midst of applying, seeking nominations, waiting for early notifications of admissions, appointments, and scholarships, preparing for interviews, wrestling with DoDMERB issues, throwing basketballs, studying for the next SAT or ACT – generally speaking, ANYONE who is right now carving a path to a military future, READ this story! What you’ll see is what’s at the very heart of SERVING in the military. This IS what it will take…
Putting service to others before self,
Leaving no one behind,
Being about, for, and in a team,
All of that –
EVEN when no one is “looking” -
i.e.: no evaluator/teacher/administrator/superior filling out a form, no resume being fleshed out, no sentence written in a letter of recommendation regarding it, no drill sergeant growling an order inches from anyone’s face about it.
The Marines in this story were just “doin’ what comes naturally!” It’s a way of life – it’s the being-in-the-military way of life. It’s what it takes.

Do the right Right thing when no one is looking and you can look in the mirror with pride every day.:thumb:
