I was awarded a 4 year Army ROTC Scholarship to Maruette. Will this at all help my chances of getting in to Marqutte itself? The letter said that the ROTC Department would sit with the admissions committee, but does that honestly help?

Yes, I think it does help. Especially if you are a competitive applicant.

PMSs told me it does not make too much of a difference. It's not like you can have a 3.0 or something, get accepted by AROTC at MIT and get accepted to MIT because AROTC accepted you... I think it would help though if you were right on the line( 25th percentile perhaps).

It is a good thing, I believe, that ROTC is part of Marquette's admissions committee. That was not the case at my son's school. So, he sent a copy of his scholarship award letter with a letter expressing his desire to attend that school. It must have helped! He was accepted and is really enjoying his NROTC experience!

Good luck!

CPT Metz told me that if ROTC wants you that ROTC will basically make sure you get in. They would not give you a scholarship if they didn't think you could get in. I applied last year and was offered a 4 year scholarship but declined it to go to another school.

I didn't get the scholarship from the US Army. I got it from Marquette. I just moved on to the Febuary board though.
