My Mid is doing the screener today. I have an idea of what they do, just curious how long it is. Does anyone know? Thanks.

The USNA MarSOT screener is not the USMC MARSOC screener.

MarsSOT is a day of physical tests, humping a rack around, the e-course, o-course (x2), and then humping a rack some more. Mids who perform well may be able to attend some of the "high speed" trainings this summer (airborne, dive school, marine centered stuff).

MARSOC is an initial step for active duty marines to enter the special operations community.

The screener will last about 12 hours. It will consist of lots of running, an obstacle course, a combat course, and more. Midshipmen do the MARSOT screener in order to qualify for many cool summer trainings like jump school.

Good luck to everyone doing the screener today!

I spoke with my DS after the screener today. He said it was fun. It was right in his wheelhouse - combo of speed, endurance, upper body strength, and M4 target shooting. He liked the rucking. I strongly suspect he’s going to one day be a Marine.
