Mass Appointments

Yep, I'm in the same boat. Hopefully this week is THE week. The waiting is killing me!

Yeah, I know...I just have this odd feeling I may not get it this week. Oh well...I'll make some calls and just wait patiently...good luck guys!

I haven't received any word yet either. Still uneasy about how my application stands.

My son is the principle nominee which means he is getting an appointment. He got a call last week from our congressman that his appointment will be mailed from the academy on Wed of this week and he would receive it the next day. I do not know if his is going to be with the mass mailing or if it comes out earlier. I am just putting this out there for those of you who are trying to guess if it is this week or next. Good luck to all of you.

Thank you!

I think we all appreciate ANY information!! And, if nothing else, to share in your joy!!

Congratulations to your son and good luck to everyone else.

So, I called my MOC's office, and they said they would of called me immediately had they heard the news. So, is this bad news, or do I just need to keep waiting? Will they possibly hear this week, or were they told last week?

hey I got my reply from my congressman today as well stating I got offered an appointment and the letter from the congressman is stated 13 March 2009.

My wife texted me today saying our son received a big envelope. Turned out to be a false alarm as it was very formal certiificate of recognition for receiving a nomination from the local MOC. It was from the local congressman and even came in a big blue folder. We have known of the nomination for 2 months and we are wondering if any one else out there received a formal certificate from their congressman? Is it common?

All I received was a letter signed by my Congressman and Senator. The one senator retired this year, so he won't be doing anything formal. Not sure about the Congressman.

Big envelope from MOC

Yep, same thing happened to kid. A month after he got the nomination, this beautiful envelope came. Funny that a nomination could be such a letdown.

My candidate file still says:

"Candidate" and "Complete"

is this normal until I receive an appointment or should it change to "qualified"?

I received nothing from the congressman who nominated me, not even a phone call. Even worse was that I received the wrong letter from the senator that nominated me (no phone call either). I called them and they said they would send me the right letter because I "deserved it" but it's been months... I'm not trying to complain, just want everyone to be grateful if they received something.

That's normal as far as I know. Mine shows the same.

my MOC actually had a whole ceremony honoring all of us, and gave us all nice certificates. unfortunately for all of em it said a nomination to the "United States Military Academy" even tho most of us were AF. oh well, all i got from obama was a letter signed by his service academy coordinator. not even his signature. no calls from either of em. i guess obama was a bit too preoccupied a week after the election.

nominations

My daughter got her nominations in letter form from each senator and the congressman.. signed with sig. stamps from the senators..and we believe a real sig from congressman.. They said they were going to have a little get-together for all the nominees.. but it never happened.

In the end, after the CFA, interviews etc.. we were just so happy to have the nominations... it was just the end of her paper and physical work and the beginning of the "waiting".

I did not receive anything from one of my congressional nominations, but if the congressman is not in office anymore is a nomination void?
