Hello all,

I have recently received my official Candidate email and logged into my account and begun filling out the personal information/academics section and am in the process of talking to my guidance counselor for my GPA and so that my high school transcript will be sent to Annapolis.

However, I cannot seem to figure out how to allow my Math/English teachers to access the site and write their recommendation letters. I realize that I cannot have access because of the honesty and privacy of recommendation letters being written for you. My question is how do I allow them to write to the Naval Academy while the letter still being in my application. I know this is a confusing question but to put in simpler terms, how do my teachers write to Navy and it will show up as "completed" or "turned in" in my application?

Thanks!

You follow the directions very carefully. In the portal, it will ask you to submit your english and math teachers' names and email address. The system then sends an email to your teacher with instructions to complete the recommendation. They will eventually get to a part in the system where they submit everything and it will show up as complete. I assume it is fairly straight forward since it didnt take long for my teachers or professors to do it (its my 3rd time applying)

Is the email and teacher name submission in the personal/academic info portion of the application?

I believe its an actual step labeled, "Math Teacher Recommendation (click here)", and "English Teacher Recommendation (click here)". listed in addition to the "personal/ academic info (click here)" and other steps.

Make sure you notify your teachers to be on the lookout for these emails. Tell them to check their spam folders as well.

Explain to them what USNA is. Don't assume they understand how competitive it is.

Also these are less "recommendation" and more "evaluation" it will ask your teacher questions like "what percentile does candidate 2022 fall under compared to other students you have taught: 10% , 1% , etc..."
