Medical Disqualification?

I just got my results back from DODMERB about my physical, everythings in order except they're making a remedial request for medical/surgical documentation about my Patelar tendinitis. I had an very mild case of tendinitis in my right knee when i ran cross country my freshman year of HS. it's now the summer after my senior year and I haven't had problems with the knee since freshman year. However when I was filling out the DODMERB medical questionnaire I put that I had to use orthodics for it and that it happened, I never officially went to see a doctor about it and was given the"diagnosis" by a physical therapist and a chiropractor. I'm worried this would be grounds for medical disqualification. Am I just being paranoid?

I think when you have some kind of prior medical event they ask for the paperwork on it. My daughter had a fairly significant broken wrist and actually had a fractured hip - both her freshman year. They asked to see the paperwork and to be extra cautious I sent all the reports and then had her treating physicians write a letter using phrases like, "completely medically cleared" and "released with no permanent concerns." They cleared her DODMERBS and she was good to go and is now entering her 3rd year - and she's was picked up on scholarship. So, just get them their paperwork and then take a deep breath because I'm sure it will be fine. And I think it is great you were completely honest with them.

Agree with COAFROTCMom. Get a clearance letter with complete unrestricted activities and no permanent damages, and you should be good. (no "possible" or "maybe" or "conditional" or other hedging remarks.)

COAAFROTCMom's daughter's situation sounds a lot like my younger son's. He had an Avulsion Fracture on his right hip his sophomore year of high school, took about 3 months to heal but he returned to Cross Country and Track the following year. When he received his scholarship and before his DODMERB exam he got proactive and gathered all his medical info and went back to the doctor and got a letter stating he was 100% fit for military activity. He filled out the DODMERB Med History and when it asked him for more info on the fracture he listed he went into great detail of the treatment and his recovery, he also listed everything to date he had done since the injury healed. He tool all the info to his appointment and gave it to the doctor. A couple weeks later his status changed to Medically Qualified, I would imagine he did not need a remidial because he gave everything up front, although the PMS at his school was a bit surprised but pleased.

I would imagine once you gather all your info and get clearance from your doctor, you should be good to go. The only thing that would cause an issue is if this is an ongoing problem.

Got a letter from my doctor today saying I was good to go and this injury isn't a problem anymore

I would imagine once you gather all your info and get clearance from your doctor, you should be good to go. The only thing that would cause an issue is if this is an ongoing problem.

I sent them a personal statement and then a letter from my doctor stating im all good
