Is it difficult to get medical disqualifications for dodmerb overturned for AROTC Scholarship winners? I currently have 3, but I am hoping to get them overturned. I am adamant about joining ROTC in college.

It depends on the DQ. Some DQ's are just virtually impossible to obtain a waiver (not overturn) for.

It is noteworthy that Army ROTC is generally considered easier than AF or Navy on medical waivers.

AROTC-dad, Could you mention some of those almost impossible waivers? I am going through the waiver process and pending DQ for two issues (plantar Fasciistis one time ocassion and uncorrected Acl)

NOTE: I'm not a physician, or DoDMERB authority. I can just list what I recall hearing through my DS, or reading through this forum.
  • Epilepsy,
  • history of suicide, or severe depression.
  • Current asthma
  • organ transplant recipient
  • Amputees.
I imagine you get the idea now. Search the DoDMERB forum and you will see many more case scenarios of both waived and not waived.

Good luck.

Thank you sir I will keep doing my homework. I have contacted Larry Mullen and he's helping me a lot. We'll see how it goes!

Any chance you could reply with Larry Mullen's email? I've been looking for it recently and haven't seen an up to date one on here.
