Medical Exam on I-Day

For whomever is responding to the original post, do we need to have the peanut butter shot? (My brother is in the Marines and said in his boot camp you take a shot that is the constancy of peanut butter . Apparently that gives it the name the peanut butter shot)

I do not recall any crazy vaccinations. In all the craziness of Day 1, there are a number of stations to get to, and more that will follow during the first 3 weeks.

Primarily, Day 1 is getting things issued. The med screenings were not much more than a records review from what I recall. It was not a repeat of the original DODMERB screenings

I remember some records review, having to insist I had all my shots (and then get someone to take me back to my stuff to get my record to prove it - carry that in your pocket!!) and a blood draw by a less than stellar tech that stabbed me 5 times so I nearly passed out. The rest is one giant blur - lots of lines and getting stuff, then getting to my room way later than everyone else (because of the blood draw) and getting yelled at for being slow to set it up....that's probably not helpful but it's all I got

Do you know if you got the blood draw because you didn't get the lab work done prior? The wording is confusing whether we need blood work to prove immunities for some vaccines like MMR and chicken pox, etc.
I would appreciate avoiding a blood draw my first day.

Pretty sure everyone had blood drawn, there wasn’t a split based on records, we all went. Things may have changed but that’s how it was back in 08
