I just returned from my DODMERB account and it stated: D250.51 Waiver Denied-AROTC-CSP. I take it that CSP stands for College Scholarship Program. If so, I interpret this to mean that the medical waiver denial prevents me from being awarded an ROTC scholarship. If so, does this also mean that I am automatically denied from the Active Duty and Nonscholarship Options as well?

So as a follow-up, I contacted the Command Surgeon and I was informed that lattice degeneration is not waiverable. If it wasn't waiverable, then why was I given a remedial for it? I'm going to try and get a second opinion from another doctor. Especially since I never had this condition before.

The remedial was probably requested to confirm the condition.

Unfortunatly being DQ'd means you are unable to join the military. You can still enroll in AROCT as a nonscholarship cadet and participate for the first 2 years, if during that time you can win an appeal you would then be able to continue on to commission. If you are unable to win an appeal then you will not be allowed to continue in AROTC past your second year.

Good Luck with the appeal.

I am already in the military, with two years of service. Have a Bachelors degree and was doing ROTC to get my Masters and commission. I am still trying to fight as much as possible; in addition, I'm also trying to get the opinion of opthamalogist.
