Medical Waiver Needed - Concussion

My son has been under waiver review since Dec. 28 for the USNA and USMMA. The tech at DoDMERB told him there was nothing to do but wait at that point, until the portal updates.
The USNA portal has a blank next to Medical Status, and the USMMA portal has Pending.
However, his USMMA contact told him that he may want to try to get cleared on his own. He was going to get back to my son with additional information.
Does any of this information seem inaccurate and concerning?
