Medical Waiver Status

DS received LOA in September and was Medically DQ'd in January for complications resulting from an illness 5 years ago. He has been awaiting for decision from waiver authority for nearly 2 months (follow-up testing and evaluations sent in at the time DQ/waiver started). I've heard that the waiver authorities are running behind schedule compared to previous years. RC told DS to hold tight but the April 15 LOA deadline is quickly approaching and he is getting nervous. Does anyone have any insight in to the waiver process timing? Thanks in advance.

Im in the same boat. According to the letter I received that contained information on my waiver request it stated that there is a wait period of up to 90 days. I'm assuming if a candidates file is extremely competitive they will not let a medical DQ be the only deciding factor. Hopefully the waivers are sent out before April 15th.

DS just heard back from RC yesterday and waiver was approved. It took almost 60 days but well worth the wait. Hopefully you will hear back soon. Best of luck!
