Hi everyone. I was appointed to the USAFA a few weeks ago and accepted (!) but my medical came back as disqualifying due to a peanut allergy from when I was younger. I have always just avoided peanuts and never had a reaction worse than throwing up. Does anyone have any advice or help with the waiver process? Yesterday they asked for AMI so I will be submitting that as soon as possible. Thank you

Hi,
You will have to get tested by an allergist. My daughter is going through the process right now. Ultimately, if it's safe to do so (according to your IGE bloode tests), you will have to do a food challenge and not have a systemic reaction. The email you receive will have a document in it describing exactly what you need to provide DODMETS. Best of luck to you and congratulations on your appointment.
